Title:Bibliographic compilation of NIR spectroscopy of stars in the Galactic O-Star Catalog Abstract: Simon Torres(1), Rodolfo Barba(1), Julia Arias(1), Nidia Morrell(2) (1) Universidad de La Serena, Chile (2) Las Campanas Observatory, Chile The Galactic O Star Catalog (GOS, Maíz Apellániz et al. 2004) collects photometric and spectroscopic information for the optically brightest galactic O-type stars. The GOS provides coordinates, spectral types, optical and near-infrared photometry, and other useful information, for 370 O-type stars in the Milky Way. The aim of this project is to increase the information contained in the GOS Catalog with the bibliographic compilation of near infrared (0.7-5 microns) spectroscopic studies available for the same stars. The results of this search will be used to compare the spectral classifications derived from observations in the optical and the NIR, checking the consistency between classification criteria in both wavelenght domains. We are in a privileged position to perform this research because of our participation in the Galactic O Spectroscopic Survey (Sota et al. 2010), a complete medium-resolution optical spectroscopic survey of stars in the GOS. This project is the needed step toward building the GOS-IR, a new catalog of O-type stars observed only in the NIR.
