Velocity Dispersions of Galactic GCs Testing Gravity? Abstract: The velocity dispersion profiles of low-mass stellar systems are widely used to determine their dynamic mass-to-light ratios, and hence infer their dark matter content. Another regular interpretation is that any observed flattening of this profile at large radii is evidence for dark matter and/or alternative theories of gravitation, e.g. MOND. In this talk I will present comparisons of velocity dispersion profiles of several Galactic globular clusters and discuss their use in drawing these conclusions.
