Title: Real-time astronomy: dust production around an AGB star during a thermal pulse. Authors: Eric Lagadec, Albert Zijlstra, Julien Girard,Christophe Martayan, Roger Wesson, Olivier Chesneau, Florian Kerber, Wouter Vlemmings Thermal pulses play a key role in the evolution of chemical elements, via the nucleosynthesis, and mixing of new elements that are transported to the surface of the star via dredge-up. WISE J1810-3305 is an object which recently became much brighter in the mid-infrared and is possibly a source undergoing a thermal pulse (Gandhi et al. (2012). Using K/L band NACO observations obtained and 1D radiative transfer modeling, we confirmed that this star experienced a dramatic ejection event that lead to the formation of a thick dusty detached shell.. This would be the first time such an event is observed around an AGB star.
