Title: More than just CO: The Molecular Gas - SF Connection in the ALMA Era

Abstract:  The same environmental conditions that may influence the star formation law also 
change the ways in which low-J 12CO lines trace the total reservoir of molecular gas.  
Disentangling these effects is a key step in making progress in our understanding of the 
molecular gas - SF connection.  In the era of ALMA, a variety of new techniques for studying 
molecular gas will enable great progress in this area.  I will review recent work studying the 
molecular gas - SF connection across a range of extragalactic environments and highlight future 
directions with ALMA and other telescopes that let us address these key questions.
