A survey of near-infrared DIBs and search for their small and time-variable structure with CRIRES A survey of around 70 early-type stars at a spectral resolution of 50,000 using CRIRES has been conducted in order to search for NIR diffuse interstellar bands at 1.3 and 1.5 microns. DIBs are detected in the majority of the 1.3 micron wavelength sightlines and a number of them at 1.5 microns. A handful of close binaries were also observed at 1.3 microns in order to probe small-scale structure in the interstellar medium and additionally some stars re-observed one year after the initial data were taken to search for time-variable structures in the ISM. Initial results are presented and line strengths compared with optical DIBs, reddening and atomic and molecular transitions. J. V. Smoker, A. Moehler, K. Smith, C. McEvoy, F.P. Keenan, A. Smette, N.
