Title: AGN - field galaxies association at high redshifts Abstract: In the local Universe active galaxies are frequently found in high density regions. This is because close galactic encounters boost chaotic movements of intragalactic matter what eventually increase gas supply for the SMBH at the galaxy center. We test if this effect operates at higher redshifts using the distribution of AGNs in the COSMOS/SUBARU deep galaxy field. It is found that excess of galaxies around AGNs is higher than the average excess around normal galaxies over the entire redshift range covered by the galaxy sample, i.e. up to z ~ 3.2.
