Title: Stellar Populations in bulges and haloes of MW-type galaxies Abstract: We make use of a semi-analytic model of galaxy formation to study the chemical properties of the stellar populations (SPs) of bulges and stellar haloes of Milky Way (MW) type galaxies. Our goal is to contribute to the understanding of the formation mechanisms of bulges and haloes in general and of the MW in particular. We compare spectroscopic and photometric stellar metallicity distributions with our model results and analize the alpha-Fe abundance ratios of SPs assuming different stellar initial mass functions. We obtain good agreement when we compare with the spectroscopic data if we assume an integrated initial mass function.
