Oral title: The Star Formation Rate Traced via Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons Oral abstract: Via quantifying the strength and upper limits of mid-infrared polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) features with a new method (Xie et al. 2018), we present a new scaling relation between SFR and PAH luminosity derived from a large sample of star-forming galaxies. The new technique can be applied to wide range of galaxy environments, extending from normal star-forming galaxies, active galaxies to complicated merging systems, setting a fundamental base to investigate the coevolution between supermassive black hole and their host galaxies.
