The afternoon of Wednesday, October 6 is free. If you wish
to enjoy the highlights of Valparaíso and Viña del
Mar, please find below some information. In this map,
you can see the distance between Valparaíso and Viña
and the location of the conference venue.
We have selected some tourism agencies that can show you some of the most
attractive places in Valparaíso and Viña
del Mar. They also offer visits to the vineyards in Casablanca,
the
National Park La Campana which Darwin described during his travels
in Chile, and
many other places.
If you are interested, please contact the agencies directly.
It is probably more enjoyable (and cheaper!) if you can share the trip with
other meeting participants.

Please be aware that like in many other big cities, you have
to be careful with your belongings, specially cameras
and
money. Wear a money
belt, or cross your purse strap across your chest. Do not wear
jewelry if you plan an excursion inside town, and never change
money on the street, but do it in the established exchange
offices or banks.
