The meeting will take take place at the ESO headquarters. The meeting will start at 9:00 on Wednesday June 7, and end at 17:00 on Friday June 9. This Workshop will assess the broad impact which the rapid development of Near-IR detector technology, and the ensueing wealth of new data, has had on theoretical and observational studies of spiral galaxies. In particular, it will be discussed how these data have furthered our understanding of the dynamical structure, the stellar content, the dust distribution and star-burst activity of spiral galaxies.
