REGISTRATION / INFORMAL RECEPTION: Sunday, 17 November
1996. Registration and informal get-together over a welcome drink at
the "Bürgerstuben" (Bürgerplatz 9, tel. 320 49 23) between 18:00 and
20:00 on Sunday evening.
LATE REGISTRATION: Monday, 18 November, 08:35-09:05 at ESO.
REGISTRATION FEE: There will be a 150DM registration fee, payable at
the registration in German currency only (cash preferred, traveller's
cheques and Eurocheques accepted - NO CREDIT CARD FACILITIES
AVAILABLE). This fee will be used to help cover the cost of the
welcome reception, transport and refreshments provided during the
meeting, and a copy of the Workshop Proceedings for each participant.
WORKSHOP VENUE: All scientific sessions will be held in the
ESO
Auditorium, Karl-Schwarzschild-Str. 2, Garching.
PROGRAM: A preliminary program is
available. The final program will be distributed at the workshop.
POSTER PAPERS: A provisional list of poster papers is available. In
the final list, to be distributed at the workshop, poster papers will
be assigned numbers which will correspond to the respective display
area (space available per poster: 1m x 1m) on the poster
boards. Posters will be on display throughout the workshop in the ESO
conference room 114. Poster papers will be reviewed at the end of the
Workshop, in Session VI
PROCEEDINGS: The proceedings of this workshop will be published by Springer-Verlag as
part of ESO's new Scientific Workshop series. Instructions for Authors are
already available, and will be distributed at the Workshop as well.

TRAVEL INFORMATION: If you would like to know how to reach ESO and the
Hotels in Garching, please follow our maps and travel information .
TRANSPORTATION: In the mornings/evenings on the days of the workshop, transportation will be
provided between the centre of Garching (Maibaum) and ESO. The bus will
leave from the bus stop Maibaum , in front of the Hotel Am Park. Travel time is
about 5 min (by bus), and approximately 20-25 min for those wishing to walk.
The bus will leave from the Maibaum as follows: at 08:25 on November
18,at 08:45 on November 19 and 20.Return in the evenings is planned for 19:00 on Nov. 18, 18:45 on Nov. 19 and 17:30 on Nov. 20, respectively. A detailed bus schedule will be provided at the workshop.
WELCOME RECEPTION: On Monday 18 November, there will be a welcome
reception offered at ESO for participants and accompanying
persons between 17:35 and 19:00.
LUNCHEON: Participants may take lunch in the nearby MPI canteen. Typical prices
(sandwiches or warm meals) range from DM 7 to DM 14.
BANK SERVICE: The opening hours of the banks in Garching are: Mon-Fri: 08:30-12:30 /
13:30-15:45 (until 17:30 on Thursday). There is a 24-hr cash-point at the
Reuschel Bank (Burgerplatz 7). All the main credit cards are acceptable
(with PIN Code).
TRAVEL AGENT: The Carlson-Wagonlit Travel Office in the ESO building (office 203) is open
on weekdays between 09:00-12:00 and 13:00-16:30 hours.
