Frequently Asked Questions related to ISAAC

  • Can I perform JHKs imaging with the Long-Wavelength detector, i.e. in LW mode?
  • Yes, you can. Broad-band JHKs filters are also available in the long wavelength arm of ISAAC. The minimum DIT in LW imaging mode is typically lower than for SW imaging, so that slightly brighter stars can be observed, but brightness limits also apply similarly as for the SW imaging detector.
