Noise and Gain
Amplifier A:

Mode slow [25 kpixel / sec] fast [37 kpixel / sec]
R.O.N. [e- rms] 4.9 8.3
CONVERSION FACTOR [ e- / ADU] 1.5 2.7

NOTE:

All the tests below have been performed with the Garching-lab VME CCD controller in slow-mode except otherwise noted.

Charge Transfer Efficiency

The CTE was measured using Flat Field exposures and its over-scan regions and gives:

A-amplifier:
Serial CTE = 0.999992 and Parallel CTE = 0.9999983

Full Well Capacity

A-amplifier:
Upper limit of linearity: 245k e-/pixel
Saturation-value: 275k e-/pixel

Cosmic Ray Event

The cosmic ray event rate is 3.8 [events/min/cm²]

The value is higher than that of other CCD-types, probably due to the very high quantum efficiency.

Shutter Error

Cosmetics

Measured with A amplifier.

On high light level exposures no significant blemishes have been noticed.
On weak light level exposures 8 small traps, each of which less than 20 pixels wide, have been discovered.
On longer dark exposures, for temperatures T > 180 °K, 3 small warm spots have been noticed.

1 hot pixel at (X,Y)=(785,878)

152 cold pixels inside the area (X1,Y1;X2,Y2)=(50,3;1075,1023)

The flat fields show a low row every 43. This is due to the way this CCD has been manifactured.
