Access Mode

By default, all frames are opened in MIDAS with write access. If this fails, the frame is opened with read access. Subsequent modifications of a file with read access only will fail, however. Therefore, you define via the file protection  how a Bulk Data Frame may be accessed inside MIDAS, i.e. via SET PROTECTION (VMS) or chmod (Unix).
