Create one or more columns

The creation of new columns in a table is done with the routine TBCINI (TCCINI). Column type , format , label , units  of the associated information as well as the output format are defined at this moment. The routine returns the column index to be used in later references to the column. If the required space for the new table exceeds the allocated column space, the table is structured on disk with some extra space for the new column(s).
