WFI Pilot Survey HOME INDEX SEARCH HELP NEWS

The main goal of the WFI Pilot Survey (PS) was to complement with B,V observations the area covered by the EIS-WIDE I-band survey and to be a pathfinder for future public imaging surveys programs to be carried out with the WFI@NTT. With this spirit, the WFI Pilot Survey was endoarsed by the EIS WG. A total area of about 14 square degrees were successfully covered. In addition, BVI data for selected Stellar Fields have been obtained as a test case for the Pre-FLAMES Survey. Observations have been performed during periods ESO.62-ESO.64 . The WFI Pilot Survey was completed on September 1999.
