| In the course of the HDF-South
project at ESO EIS has carried out deep observations of the Hubble
Deep Field South using the SUSI2
and SOFI
instruments at the ESO
NTT and the WFI
at the ESO 2.2m telescope. The EIS field called HDF2 (this page), which
covers the field observed by the WFPC2 of the HST has been observed in
8 filters (U, B, V, R, I, J, H, K), the field HDF1
covering the STIS field has been observed in the three SOFI filters J,
H, K. Here you will find links to all released data sets. Please read the
copyright
notice. Details about the observations, data reduction and products will be
presented in forthcoming papers.
For comments or suggestions on the data release or the EIS web pages
in general please use our feedback
form.
Please be aware that the FITS images are quite
big. The SUSI frames are about 20 MB, the SOFI frames 5 MB. If you
want to request all frames you could use the request
form instead where you may request the complete data set. |

This section keeps the history
of the data release and major updates of this page in general
Sep. 14, 1999 - first HDF2 quicklook release
Aug. 23, 1999 - HDF1/HDF2/HDF3 pages splitted
Dec. 7, 1998 - Worldwide release of HDF-South
data
Warning: The infrared data given here were reduced using the Jitter
program of the Eclipse image processing package. Recently, it has been
reported that magnitudes computed using this program may be
underestimated by about 0.15 mag at faint magnitudes. A
re-analysis of these data will be carried out in the near future.
