During PODPS processing, GEIS format data sets consisting of a Science Data file are created for the Fine Guidance Sensors (FGS). Each data file consists of an ASCII header file, but no binary data file. These ASCII header files share the same root file name for a particular observation with those data files produced by the AEDP. (The AEDP data files are comprised of an ASCII header file and a binary data file.) The type of data in each file is identified by its extension. Files with the extension ``.DMH'' are produced by PODPS (Table 1). All other files are created by the AEDP (Table 2).
These AEDP astrometry data products for a FGS astrometric observation consist of three pairs of files. Each pair contains an ASCII header file which provides general information (both nominal and actual) on the performed observation and a binary data file which contains the actual FGS data. These files are described in detail in the HST Astrometry and Engineering Data Processing System (AEDP) to Post Observation Data Processing System (PODPS) Interface Control Document (ICD_46).
