OTFR Information
Raw data for ACS, NICMOS, STIS and WFPC2 can be re-generated upon request
via the On-The-Fly Reprocessing (OTFR) pipeline.
- If the original HST telemetry is available,
uncalibrated raw data files will be reconstructed on the fly with
the latest release of the OTFR software;
- Otherwise, the raw files originally generated by the OTFR
pipeline at the time when the telemetry was received at STScI
(hence potentially by a different older OTFR version),
will be retrieved from the archive.
Note:
In the ST-ECF and CADC terminology, OTFR is not to be confused
with the On-The-Fly Calibration (OTFC).
OTFC is a subsequent step applied onto the raw data to generate
calibrated (e.g., flat fielded) and enhanced (e.g., co-added) products.
To check which OTFR version was used to generate your files,
please refer to the FITS keywords OPUS_VER and DATE in
the files with the following extension:
- NICMOS
- extension spt
- STIS
- extensions spt and wsp
- WFPC2
- extension shf
- ACS
- ACS raw files are always generated on the fly
(no raw file gets stored);
in other words, OTFR is a prerequisite to fullfill ACS requests.
The most recently used OTFR version is:
Pipeline Software Release OPUS 14.0 SHARE 4.0 ********* 06 Jun 2002
Currently OTFR is available for the following instruments:
