HST Publications

Method:

The ADS system is queried:

by european PI or CoI name
forcing the text field to contain the string HST
or one of its aliases (i.e. "Hubble Space Telescope" and "Hubble" !)

The ADS text field indeces also the title.

Four lists are created: Refereed PI, Refereed CoIs, Non-Refereed PI, Non-Refereed CoIs.

There are 1133 non-refereed publications of PIs or CoIs (969 in 1991 - 2000 range)
of which:
- 226 are by PIs
- 691 are by CoIs
- The remaining 216 publications ( 1133 - 226 - 691 ) are by PICOI
- 709 are by PIs
- 1028 are by CoIs
There are 1538 refereed publications of PIs or CoIs (1328 in 1991 - 2000 range)
of which:
- 267 are by PURE PIs
- 1058 are by PURE CoIs
- The remaining 213 publications ( 1538 - 267 - 1058 ) are by PICOI
- 983 are by ALL PIs
- 1446 are by ALL CoIs
Hence, 891 papers (= 983 + 1446 - 1538) are the publications having both PIs and CoIs as authors. Very likely those publications are based on HST proposals.
846 of those 891 papers were published in the 1991 - 2000 time span.
The 92 papers (= 983 - 891) which have a PI but not a CoI in the author list are available here.
