This menu contains functions for the access of HDS file, reading or writing.
Note that here, as in general, buttons are labeled in all caps if clicking on
them will bring up another widget instead of causing immediate action.
For our exercises, we actually use the faster command line procedure
get_data[,file] .
If used with the file parameter, it first opens the file, then reads it,
but leaves it open.
