I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in July 1973. I studied Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and then did my DEA and PhD in Astrophysics at Toulouse Observatory. After a few months at the Hamburger Sternwarte, I spent 2.5 years at ESO - Garching (period also known as the EIS-age). In June 2003 I took a Herschel-SPIRE postdoc position at the IAC in Tenerife, where I spent 3.5 sunny years. I came back to ESO in December '06 and went virtual (observatory) for almost five years. In 2012 I joined the ALMA Regional Centre as an ALMA support astronomer and am now the coordinator of the European ARC nodes network.

I love: cats and cars and hard rock, german expressionism, books, and wine, cinema, mountains and seas. But above all, my two little ones, Filip and Kassandra, that turned my world upside-down.

I hate: ... probably too many things to mention here. But garlic definitely tops the list.
