I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in July 1973. I studied Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and then did my DEA and PhD in Astrophysics at Toulouse Observatory. After a few months at the Hamburger Sternwarte, I spent 2.5 years at ESO - Garching (period also known as the EIS-age). In June 2003 I took a Herschel-SPIRE postdoc position at the IAC in Tenerife, where I spent 3.5 sunny years. I came back to ESO in December '06 and after 4.5 virtual (observatory) years, I am now an ALMA support astronomer.

I like: cats and cars and hard rock; german expressionism, books and wine; cinema, mountains and seas.

I don't like: ... probably too many things to mention in such a short space but garlic definitely tops the list.
