I have defended my Ph.D. thesis on June 28, 2002 at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.
The thesis title is "Resolved stellar populations in the nearby galaxies NGC 5128 and WLM".

The front cover image is due to ESO PR Photo 05b/00. It is a BVI color composite  image of
Centaurus A, nearby elliptical galaxy, taken with KUEYEN/UT2+FORS2 on
January 31, 2000.
The  credits for the back cover BVHa image of WLM dwarf  irregular galaxy go to
Phil Massey on behalf of the Local Group Galaxies Survey Team.
