APPULSES BY PPM STARS OF THE COMET C/1995 O1 (HALE-BOPP) September 1, 1996 - October 17, 1997 Ovidiu VADUVESCU, Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy Bucharest, ROMANIA; e-mail: ovaduvescu@roimar.imar.ro This study computes 503 appulses of the comet Hale-Bopp inferior to 5' by PPM stars in the mentioned period. It provides opportunities of small- field CCD observations. The study was conducted using "APRPPM" PC software written in Turbo C++ v.1.0. The software uses the J2000 ephemeris of D.Yeomans (1996) and the CD-ROM version of PPM catalogue (NASA, 1991). The values of sepparations inferior to 0'.5 candidate for possible occultations (these depends on the diameter of the nucleus at that epoch). The results are printed in the table. The signifiance of the columns are: Year, Mo, Da, UT - date and the time of the appulse (precision of 1min) Sep - the minimum sepparation star-comet in '; Po - the position of the comet at minimum approach. PPM - the PPM number of the catalogs' numerical version of the star; Ph - the photographical magnitude of the star; Sp - the spectral type of the star; alpha2000, delta2000 - the J2000 coordinates of
