My research is centered on the study of Active Galactic Nuclei, which include quasars, using data across the whole electromagnetic spectrum, and neutrino Astronomy. I have also worked, amongst other things, on very deep radio surveys.
I have also worked on the Extremely Large Telescope, a revolutionary new ground-based telescope concept, which will have a 40-metre-class main mirror and will be the largest optical/near-infrared telescope in the world.
Here's
everything you want to know about it!
On July 5, 2019 I have received the
Sparlamento Prize 2019 awarded in
the Italian House of Parliament in Rome "for having contributed with my
work to valorise the Italian excellence in Astronomy".
