Roy and Silvie ready to dive
Here we are in our diving outfits.

My home in Curacao Kunuku-huisje: Cas di Palhi Mashi Hoffi Pastor
This was Silvies home in Curacao: Witteweg 60 in Otrobanda. You can also see our super car. During my stay I went to see Cas di Palhi Mashi (a slave house-museum), Hoffi Pastor and the Christoffel parc (see below). Ofcourse we climbed the Cristoffelberg. We rented a jeep to see the rest of the parc and we got to know all about snakes and iguanas.

St. Michielsbaai en Slangenbaai

When Roy came to visit me in Curacao, we took diving lessons and obtained our first diving certificate at the diving school Wederfoort in Boca Sami. We went diving in the housereef St. Michielsbaai and Slangenbaai. During the first dive our instructor took some bread along, which attracted a lot of yellow tail snappers. In Slangenbaai we saw a group of little cuttlefish.

Klein Curacao

At one of the last days of Roy's visit we made a daytrip to Klein Curacao. At the reef of this small, desert island we saw a big turtle and jelly-fish. This was our first boat dive.

Watamula (Westpoint)

When Roy went back to Holland, I went diving almost every weekend. First we went to Watamula. This was supposed to be a great dive. Occaisionally there are sharks and even whalesharks are seen there. The corals should be magnificent, etc. The only problem would be the current. But if we would go down fast, we would see the beautiful reef. Unfortunately the current reversed and we were floating to the other side of the reef. Nevertheless we saw some cleaner shrimps, a field of eels, white-eye gobies and held a brittlestar.

Playa Kalki (Westpoint)

Because the Watamula boat dive wasn't as perfect as was promised, we could do another dive from the beach in Westpoint: Playa Kalki. We saw something very special: some juvenile trunkfish. They are the size and shape of a pea, black with yellow dots. We also saw a juvenile spotted drumfish a few scorpion fish and a harlequin pipefish.

Superior Producer

The Superior Producer sank in 1977. It lies at a depht of about 30m. The ship has a length of 50m and a width of 7,5m. This is my first wreck dive. The first thing we see as we are going down is the ships bow. It's a very impressive site. We see a big baracuda and a very big green murene.

After our dive to the Superior we went to Playa Jeremi. This is a very beautiful and diverse reef. We saw a white nudybranch, a clown crab, a spotted murene, schoolmasters and a big spiny lobster.
