Current status

I am currently pursuing my PhD degree as part of the International Max-Planck Research School (IMPRS) at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Garching, Germany. My thesis mainly focuses on near-infrared investigations of disks around binaries in nearby star forming regions, supervised by Dr. Monika Petr-Gotzens. However, I am also actively involved in a few other areas of research (see below). A copy of my CV can be found here (pdf-format).

Scientific interests
  • Star formation in Binaries
  • Multiplicity of Low-mass Stars and Transiting Planet Hosts
  • High Spatial Resolution NIR Observations (Adaptive Optics, NIR Interferometry, ...)

Ongoing projects

  • Near-IR photometry and spectroscopy of low-mass binaries and their disks in Chamaeleon I
  • Investigations of disks around TTauri binaries of the Orion Nebula Cluster through high-spatial resolution near-infrared photometry and spectroscopy
  • High-spatial resolution Lucky Imaging of transiting exoplanet hosts
  • The multiplicity of low-mass dwarf stars

ONC imaging
High-resolution near-infrared imaging of low-mass binaries in the ONC (Daemgen et al. 2012).
