Matteo comes from Firenze where he got his master diploma in Mechanics in 1993. He has also the following specializations: CAD-CAM-FEA (600h in 1994) and Micro mechanics (550h in1995). Before joining ESO he worked for the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF) during 6 years.
Here is a table showing his responsibilities in the projects where he had an active participation:
At INAF |
LBT - Large Binocular Telescope | Design studies, integration and test |
| Adaptive secondary mirror for MMT and LBT | Support in the field of mechanics | |
| Pyramid wavefront sensor | Support in the field of mechanics | |
| Amber spectrograph for the VLTI | Design studies, cryogenics and test | |
At ESO |
VIMOS | Design, integration and test |
| IRIS | Design, integration, assembly integration and testing | |
| AMBER | Assembly integration and testing |
He has also collaborated with FINITO, PRIMA, REMIR, CRIRES, CONICA, MUSE, X-SHOOTER, OMEGA-CAM, UVES.
