Sebastien Tordo
Sebastien Tordo arrived at ESO in October 1998 to work in the Adaptive Optics department on various subjects like AO developments
and data processing. He then obtained a staff position in the integration and cryo-vacuum department in January 2002.
Since then he has been responsible for several instruments and subsystems in the adaptive optics domain:
- MACAO-VLTI test bench (multiple application curvature system for the very large telescope interferometer)
- SINFONI AO module (Spectrograph for INtegral Field Observations in the Near-Infrared)
- MAD (multi conjugate adaptive optics demonstrator for OWL)
He also participated actively in the MACAO-VLTI subsystem testing and module #1 and #4 integration in Paranal.
He gives support to the HOT (High Order Test bench) experiment and he is the author of this web page.
His job description:
Opto-mechanical integration of instrument sub-systems. Opto-mechanical testing of instrument sub-systems. Maintenance and upgrading of the optical measurement facilities
in the integration department. Development of new optical test and alignment tools. Procurement of small components for the various prototyping and development activities in the instrumentation
and telescope division. Integration, alignment and installation of complete middle size instruments.
