Once the scientific frames have been obtained at Paranal, a very basic quality check is performed by QC-Garching on the basis of the constraint set built by the user during the Observing Block (OB) preparation. This procedure is known as QC0.

The following parameters are checked:

Airmass
Ambient Seeing
Target-Moon distance
Fractionary Lunar Illumination (FLI)

A specific tool is used to check all science frames included in a SM package and it produces an output file, where for each entry the OB-ID is listed together with target and actual values of the parameters listed above. Find an example of a QC0 report here.

A flag (A or NOK) is used to mark nominal constraint violations.
