Overview

The purpose of the seminar is to provide instrument developers with an overview of the ELT hardware and software development platform, which will be used for implementing the control of the instruments.

It is also an opportunity for ESO to get immediate feedback from the users of the platform and to discuss, interactively, topics that need clarification.

The ELT system has now been under development for some time, and its level of maturity is much higher than it was during the last seminar of this kind, held five years ago.

The seminar is dedicated to the following audience:

o   Instrument control software developers.

o   Control engineers.

o   Electronics engineers.

o   System engineers and project managers who need an overview of the technologies in use.

Considering the variety and number of subjects that will be covered, the level of detail in each talk may vary.
