The sunset road
This photograph, taken in July 2019, shows a sunset view from Cerro Armazones, where ESO’s Extremely Large Telescope is being built. The winding desert road that connects Armazones to ESO’s Paranal Observatory is visible, as are the construction worker’s cabins in the foreground.
