De OmegaCAM-camera van de VLT-surveytelescoop van ESO heeft dit schitterende beeld vastgelegd van de stellaire kraamkamer Sharpless 29. Op de reusachtige foto zijn tal van astronomische verschijnselen te zien, zoals kosmisch stof en gaswolken die het licht van hete jonge sterren in de nevel weerkaatsen, absorberen en opnieuw uitstralen.
