Dalekohled TBT2 – technologický demonstrátor Evropské kosmické agentury (ESA) umístěný na Observatoři La Silla (ESO) v Chile – zahájil svůj operační provoz a stal se součástí celosvětového úsilí při odhalování blízkozemních planetek. Společným koordinovaným pozorováním se svým partnerským teleskopem pracujícím na severní polokouli bude TBT2 propátrávat oblohu, hledat asteroidy, které by mohly představovat riziko pro planetu Zemi, a přitom testovat technické i programové vybavení pro budoucí síť teleskopů.
