A nebula in Garching
The public enjoy exploring the central foyer at the Garching Headquarters at the ESO 2017 Open House Day that was held on Saturday 21 October. Whilst ESO's telescopes are based far away in the Chilean desert, the core hub of ESO staff, students, outreach and research is based in Garching, Germany. A stunning image of the Helix Nebula, which hangs in the foyer, is visible on the left.
