The ALMA transporter carrying an antenna at the OSF

The ALMA transporter is positioning an antenna over its foundation at the assembly area of the Operations Support Facility (OSF), located at 2900m altitude on the road to the Chajnantor plateau. The ALMA transporters are two unique vehicles, specifically designed to carry antennas which weigh more than 100 tonnes each, at up to 5000 metres altitude.
