Solargraph at ESO Headquarters

"Solargraphy" is a technique which uses a pinhole camera to capture the movements of the Sun in the sky over long periods of time (weeks or even months). This allows one to obtain continuous solar trails, with an unusual artistic effect. This solargraph is the result of a five-month exposure at ESO Headquarters in Garching, showing foreground objects, a satellite dish to the left and a pyramid-shaped roof left of centre. For more information about this solargraph, please see ESO Messenger 141, p 43 (PDF).
