M4 Rendering

The above image is a rendering of M4, which is one of five mirrors that will make up the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) optical system.

The surface of this mirror can be deformed to account for atmospheric turbulence and the fast vibration of the telescope structure induced by its motion and the wind.
