Yoga room at Paranal

Some of the sport facilities at ESO’s Paranal Observatory. About 120 km south from Antofagasta (the capital of the II Region of Chile) and some 100 km away from the town of Taltal, Paranal is a true island in the middle of the desert. Sports facilities are part of what the observatory offers to its personnel to guarantee an optimum quality of life while working in the desert.
