Milky Way arcs La Silla

Our Milky Way galaxy stretches above the Chilean night sky, as seen from La Silla in this fish-eye (fulldome) view. The site has been an ESO stronghold since the 1960s. Here, ESO operates two of the most productive 4-metre class telescopes in the world – the ESO 3.6-metre telescope and 3.58-metre New Technology Telescope (NTT). The infrastructure of the site is also used by many of the ESO Member States for targeted projects.
