The blue-tinted inside of an 8.2-metre Unit Telescope, one of four that comprises ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT), is shown in this photo. The enclosure's air conditioning and flaps are computer controlled, ensuring the perfect conditions inside the telescope for world-class observations.
