UT1 and the Milky Way
ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT) is made up for four 8.2-metre telescopes, known as the Unit Telescopes, which are assisted by four smaller telescopes, the Auxiliary Telescopes. In this image, Unit Telescope 1 is seen gazing up at the Milky Way.
