ALMA antennas seen from above

The beautiful image above shows the array of ALMA antennas on the Chajnantor Plateau, the large ones with a diameter of 12 metres, and the ALMA Compact Array (ACA), made up of 12 antennas with a diameter of 7 metres each. Further striking aerial images taken by Wings for Science of ESO observatories in Chile will be published at a later date on the ESO web pages.
