Two circles of stars

Images of star trails are beloved and common motives among night sky photographers. These star trails over the Residencia at the Paranal observatory are uncommon, as they show two circles of stars. One for the Northern and one for the Southern hemisphere. This effect can be created by aiming the camera not north or south to the celestial poles, but west or east.
