Lamp flats are taken daily, as part of the calibration plan. Flats in specific setups: INS.WLEN.ID=Y1029, J1232, H1559, K2217, L3377, M4266 are taken every day as health checks. Frames in other setups are only obtained when they are triggered by settings of science data observed during the night.

Information about the Quality Control performed utilizing lamp flat frames of the instrument BEFORE the upgrade (before 2021-09) can be found here.

The flux level per DIT [ADU/s] and RMS [ADU] for selected INS.WLEN.ID are monitored.

Scoring&thresholds LAMP FLAT flux level

The thresholds are set to ensure optimal flux on the detectors and to warn about malfunction of the lamp.
