FIERA POWER SUPPLY FAILED =============================================================== The reason for the -15V power supply to be off was a short circuit in one of the CLOCK boards (CLKDRV1). After checking the board without the BILEVEL clock driver SIMMs, we found that the board itself was damaged as any SIMM installed in slots 3 and up would produce a short on the -15V supply. Using a spare CLOCK board, we found that one SIMM (#3) was also producing the short of the -15V supply. This SIMM was replaced and the spare board populated with the remaining original SIMMs and this time the -15V supply was running fine. However, when running the selftest program fcdtestseq, we realized that the other clock driver (CLKDRV0) was giving errors when checking the SIMMs. Since this software can not pinpoint which SIMM is failing (with one bad it will say that all give errors), I replaced all SIMMs with spare ones and then tested the original SIMMs installing one by one. In the end, the result was 3 SIMMs bad in CLKDRV0 board, giving a total death toll of one CLKDRV board and 4 SIMMs.... still have no idea why this happened since the failure must have happened between the 19 Nov. (last night with WFI) and the 22nd and nothing special was reported like interventions or power failures. After replacing all dead parts with spares, the WFI CCDs were reconnected and tested, and up to first level evaluation, nothing seems to have changed. The daily check is currently running in order to find if there is any subtle change. The broken parts will be sent to Garching for repair/replacement.
