A Catalog of Blue Stragglers in Open Clusters J. A. Ahumada Observatorio Astronómico, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina In this presentation I will try to give some clues on how we built the two versions of our catalog of blue straggler candidates in galactic open clusters (Ahumada & Lapasset 1995, 2007). Both compilations, containing about one thousand and two thousand stars respectively, were based on the simple idea of selecting the candidates from a definite area of the clusters' color-magnitude diagrams. But the actual selection process was illustrative of how the presence of these anomalous objects in the diagrams of open clusters should be assessed; I will comment on this and on the consequences on the usefulness of the catalogs.
