This is the third announcement for the ESO conference "Dissecting Galaxies Near and Far: 
High Resolution Views of Star Formation and the ISM" to be held in Santiago, Chile, from 23-27 
March 2015.


Important Updates:

(1) REGISTRATION
Registration is now closed. We can still accept registrations for participation only or poster 
presentations up to a maximum of 110 participants (the capacity of our conference room).


(2) REGISTRATION FEE PAYMENT
Payment of the registration fee is due by 9 February 2015.

(3) OPTIONAL VISIT TO ALMA
We are planning an optional visit to the ALMA site on 27-28 March. Please take a look at

for important details.

If you would like to take part in this visit, please send an email to galaxies2015@eso.org and 
we will contact you regarding payment for the flight and hotel. Details of the expected cost can 
be found at the above link. The deadline is 13 February.

The minimum number of participants for this visit to take place is 12 - so far we have received 7 
expressions of interest. Therefore, if we do not receive at least 12 confirmations with payment 
details by 13 February we will not be able to go ahead with the visit.

The maximum number of participants we can accommodate on the visit is around 35. In case of 
excess demand participation will be considered on a first come first served basis. In the case 
that we do have sufficient participation by 13 February we may be able to accept additional 
participants later but those participants should note that the cost of their visit may then be 
higher.

Participants should also note the health check requirements for visiting the ALMA 
Array Operations Site at 5000m.


(4) PRELIMINARY PROGRAM & PRESENTATIONS
The list of participants has now been updated to include accepted presentations (Contributed 
Talk, Poster, Invited Talk):

A preliminary program is expected to be available on 23 February.

Contributed Talks will be 15 minutes + 5 minutes for questions.
Invited Talks will be 25 minutes + 5 minutes for questions.

If you are presenting a poster and have not submitted your abstract yet, or if you would like to 
present an additional poster (we have space for a few more), please send your titles and 
abstracts to galaxies2015@eso.org
We will also have short, 1-slide, talk slots for poster presenters.

(6) STUDENT SUPPORT
We are pleased to announce that we are able to waive the registration fee for the students who 
requested support at the time of registration. Those participants have been contacted by email. 
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer financial support to additional participants.
