Standard UVES reference frames (binning 1x1)

UVES data in standard setups can come as 1x1 or 2x2 binned. All raw reference frames shown here have been measured with 0.6" slit width but data could come with smaller or larger slits. For some of the products (master flat fields), different slit width have been used. The 346nm flats can be measured with the standard FF lamp or with the deuterium lamp which produces some strong emission lines on top of the continuum. The 600 nm data are usually taken with the iodine absorption cell.

UVES reference frames for binning 2x2

The calibrations for 2x2 binning are in general very similar to the 1x1 cases. Differences occur for the master flat fields, where the pipeline tends to over-subtract the inter-order background, and for calibrations involving the ThAr lamp, where the saturation in the reddest settings is stronger. Only these cases are shown here.
