LISA III Conference - Managing Change Gracefully

Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Spain
April 21st-24th, 1998

 

The LISA III (Library and Information Services in Astronomy) Conference was held in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, Spain, April 21-24, 1998. The conference was hosted by the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias.
This conference was the third in a series: LISA I (IAU Colloquium 110) was held at the Naval Observatory, Washington, in 1988 and LISA II (an IAU Technical Workshop) was held at the European Southern Observatory,  Garching, Germany, in 1995.
LISA III  provided an opportunity for librarians, publishers, and scientists to examine the current state of the art of information maintenance, delivery, and preservation, as well as to learn from invited experts the directions in which our profession is moving.
LISA III was an Euroconference as it was partially supported by the European Commission under its TMR programme (4th Framework Programme). The conference was attended by 100 participants from 23 countries.
The programme included 9 sessions during which 36 invited and contributed lectures were presented to the attendance. During the poster session, a total of 20 posters were displayed.

The proceedings of the conference were published in the Astronomical Society of the Pacific Conference Series (Vol. 153). An electronic version of LISA III proceedings is available at:
